Program Short Cut & Pin to Taskbar -Windows 10
Windows 10 makes it a little difficult to create all those shortcuts we love to decorate our desktop with. Prior to Windows 10 right clicking on a program would bring up the option to copy. Now there are a few more steps. Here is how to get our desktop art back.
Short Cut on Desktop
Go to the search bar and type in the programs name (ex: Excel)

The location of the file will be displayed
Right click on the program to bring up the menu
Select Copy

Go to your desktop and Right Click again to bring up menu
Select Paste shortcut

You program icon shortcut should appear.
Pin to Task Bar
Another option to creating a shortcut would be to simply pin to task bar (few steps)
Go to the search bar and type in the programs name (ex: Excel)

Your program icon shortcut will appear on the taskbar.
